Spirituality and Art: Film Screening in Burgas
On the eve of one of the most sacred Christian holidays – St. George's Day, the Petko Zadgorski Art Gallery in Burgas invites citizens and guests to a special screening. The event is part of the rich program celebrating the 80th anniversary of the prestigious cultural institution.
The film is dedicated to the image of St. George – the Great Martyr, Victorious, and Wonderworker.
The film is a production of the Center for Semiotic and Cultural Studies and is based on the in-depth research of Miroslav Dachev, compiled in his book "St. George: The Great Martyr, Victorious, and Wonderworker." The project is a natural continuation of the team's long-standing work on researching Christian iconography and our spiritual heritage.
What to expect from the film?
- A documentary-essay reading of the saint's life.
- A synthesis of textual art and visual cultural memory.
- New interpretations of Christian traditions through the lens of modern science.
Do not miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in the spiritual wealth of Bulgarian culture. Admission to the screening is completely free.
