On September 5th, Burgas will become a focal point for Bulgarian traditions, authentic flavors, and culture, marking the official launch of a new national initiative – the "Tastes of Bulgaria" festival. This large-scale event will welcome guests starting at 5:30 PM at the Sea Station. The organizers emphasize that admission is completely free, and all food and drinks offered as part of the program will be complimentary.
The primary goal of this project is for gastronomy to serve as a bridge connecting tourism, cultural heritage, local producers, and the people who preserve and pass on Bulgarian traditions. The organizers promise an experience that goes far beyond a simple tasting, placing a strong emphasis on the country's regional wealth.
Visitors can look forward to a packed program, which includes:
- Culinary demonstrations by professional chefs;
- Live meet-and-greets with popular television personalities;
- An exhibition and market for high-quality local products;
- A rich live musical program and diverse entertainment for the whole family.
Star power will grace the stage at the Sea Station, with culinary activities featuring chefs Nikola Simeonov, Desislava Trifonova, and Iliyan Sabkov, all well-known to the general public from Hell’s Kitchen. They will be joined by Plamena Petrova ("Your Face Sounds Familiar") and Ivelina Ivanova ("The Bachelor"), while authentic Bulgarian folklore and traditions will be presented by the "Kamenovski Traditsii" association from Kameno. The official opening and hosting duties for the event are entrusted to Iskren Petsov.
The initiative is being held with the key support of the Municipality of Burgas, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Culture, and the Regional Administration. The realization of the first editions of "Tastes of Bulgaria" is also made possible thanks to a partner network that includes Janet supermarkets, Avenue Deluxe Hotel, Melnitsata Hotel – Nesebar, Grand Hotel & SPA Primoretz, Marina Burgas Hotel, DOCK 5 restaurant, SOL restaurant, DEVIN waters, "Turistichesko Pivo" (Tourist Beer), Fishland, "Zorov 91" dairy products, and "Starosel" wines.
Following the grand opening in Burgas, the festival tour will continue as planned: on September 6th, the event will visit Pomorie, and on September 7th – Ruen. The organizers' ambition is for this platform to establish itself as a significant national forum for promoting Bulgaria, regional tourism, local cuisine, producers, and cultural heritage to audiences both at home and abroad.
