Start of the literary celebration in Burgas
The “With a Book on the Beach” festival returns with a large-scale program that will turn the “Flora” Expo Center into a magnet for all literature lovers. From August 12 to 16, over 40 Bulgarian publishing houses will present their titles on the promenade in front of the expo center.
“With a Book on the Beach” is an opportunity to stock your home library with classics and new titles while meeting your favorite authors.
Highlights from the first day (August 12)
- 11:30 AM – Meeting with Gergana Decheva and presentation of the book “X as Soap” (“Peppermill Books” Publishing House).
- 5:00 PM – Premiere of “The Nakedness of What is Coming” by Zlatka Pishieva and “Ants Drink Water” by Zhivka Ivanova (“Znatsi” Publishing House).
- 5:30 PM – Exhibition “Spaces - Abstract Painting” by Nikolay Nikolov, presented by Dr. Mariana Pramatarova (“The New Civilization” Publishing House).
- 6:00 PM – Presentation of the collection “The Running Man - from Marathon to Mars” with the participation of compiler Nevena Dishlieva (“ICU” Publishing House).
- 7:00 PM – Special guest: Georgi Gospodinov. Meeting and conversation about the books “The Cherry of a Nation” and “The Gardener and Death” on the open-air stage at “Flora”.
