A Literary Celebration by the Sea
Varna has once again turned into a "Sea of Books." The second edition of the large-scale festival has brought together over 90 publishers located in 40 tents, turning the city into a magnet for thousands of readers.
"This year the festival is very large-scale. Our ambition is for the event to gain an international character in the future," shared Petya Gospodinova, Chair of the Board of the "Bulgarian Book" Association.
A Rich Program and Special Highlights
Until August 9, visitors can take part in over 120 events, including:
- Personal meetings with favorite Bulgarian authors;
- Discussions and talks;
- Children's workshops and literary readings;
- Presentations of the latest titles on the market.
The culmination of the festival will be the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the great writer Stefan Tsanev. The premiere of his new work will take place on August 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the concert studio of Radio Varna.
Bulgarian Literature on the World Stage
According to Petya Gospodinova, interest in Bulgarian authors abroad is on the rise. The Association is actively working to promote domestic literature by participating in major forums such as those in Thessaloniki and Bucharest. "We must work harder to support reading and protect copyright," she emphasized.
All those interested can familiarize themselves with the full program of "Sea of Books" on the official platform of the "Bulgarian Book" Association.
