The pharmaceutical plant that Vedra International is building in the village of Zidarovo, Sozopol Municipality, is scheduled to open at the end of 2027. To date, approximately 10 million euros have been invested in the large-scale initiative, with a total of about 20 million euros earmarked for the project's completion. The details were announced by the company's CEO and co-owner, Teodora Petrova, during a conversation with Zidarovo Mayor Hristo Bardukov, a recording of which was published on the social network Facebook.
Petrova explains that a four-year period has been set for the construction of the facility due to the high complexity of the specific processes that will be involved in production. The company's management expresses hope that construction activities will be completed within this timeframe. The factory itself is a key component of the wider "Vedra Land" project. Once production begins, the generated revenue will be reinvested into the next phase of the project, which involves transforming the old hemp factory in Zidarovo into a modern events center.
According to Petrova, the building of the former hemp factory possesses unique architectural value, with the Prussian vault serving as a focal point. The project envisions the following functions for the future complex:
- An auditorium with a stage featuring 300 seats;
- A restaurant attached to the events center.
Furthermore, Vedra has reached an agreement with the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov University in Burgas. The agreement allows pharmacy students to conduct their classes directly at the complex's facilities. Development plans also include the construction of a private dairy and a farmyard that will house 40 cows. A large herbal garden with over 60 species of medicinal plants is also planned, as the team intends to incorporate the experience and knowledge of healer Petar Dimkov into the production of herbal products.
The company is continuing the procedure to obtain a Class A investment certificate. According to Petrova, the necessary documents were submitted about two years ago, but the process is currently delayed. The groundbreaking for the pharmaceutical factory officially took place in September 2023. According to the investor's preliminary estimates, once all stages of the project are realized, the complex is expected to employ over 200 people.
