The National Assembly officially approved the Euro Introduction Bill at second reading, provoking a sharp reaction from the trade sector. Nikolay Valkanov, executive director of the Modern Trade Association, expressed serious reservations about the proposed texts.

In an expert commentary to the media, Valkanov emphasized that there are unresolved problems that directly threaten economic operators. "Consumer interest is a priority, but many business concerns remain unaddressed," he was adamant.

The main objections are related to two key aspects. First - the sanctions mechanism, which is considered disproportionate to potential violations. Second - the extensive list of goods that are subject to mandatory reporting, which creates additional administrative burden.

Valkanov also insists that the Council of Ministers should not be able to take unilateral actions without parliamentary control. "It is necessary for all emergency measures to pass through the sanction of the National Assembly," the expert emphasized.

The position of the business community clearly demonstrates the need to refine the bill before its final adoption in the plenary hall.
