Europe has officially launched its new leading supercomputer - JUPITER, which is based on the latest NVIDIA graphics processors. Located in Jülich, Germany, JUPITER is part of the EuroHPC initiative and represents a significant advancement in the computational power of the Old Continent.
With a capacity exceeding one exaflop (one quintillion calculations per second), JUPITER will be used for complex scientific tasks such as climate modeling, new drug development, and optimization of energy networks. The supercomputer will also support the development of European sovereignty in strategic technologies such as artificial intelligence and quantum computing.
The JUPITER project is a joint initiative between the European Commission, Germany, and leading scientific institutes, with the aim of establishing Europe as a global leader in scientific computing.
