Evacuation in Elenite after flooding: Drowned man found

Six women were evacuated from the Elenite holiday village, Nessebar, after flooding. A drowned man was found in an underground garage. Rescue teams are continuing their work in the area.

Six women, including three Polish women, were evacuated from the Eleshite holiday village, located in the Nesebar municipality. This is the information that reached us from the regional administration in Burgas. The firefighters, who went to the scene of the incident, found the body of a man. Tragically, the man was found drowned in an underground garage, part of one of the buildings in the village.

Rescue teams continue to search the buildings intensively. The press service of the regional administration clarified that the high trafficability of the equipment is currently hampered in some of the flooded areas. Signals for cars and buildings under water, as well as for people in distress, have been received in the last few hours. Teams from Nesebar and Pomorie were immediately sent to the scene. Divers and a specialized amphibian, arriving from Varna, are also included in the rescue operations.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Tony Todorov, at a briefing in the Council of Ministers, confirmed the information about one death in the Eleshite resort village. He added that actions are being taken to remove the body of the deceased.
