Electricity Prices Fall: BNEB Prices for Tomorrow

Electricity on the Bulgarian Independent Energy Exchange (BNEB) is becoming cheaper. The average price for tomorrow is 143.14 EUR/MWh, which is a decrease of nearly 7% compared to today. Check out the prices for peak and off-peak energy.

With an average price of 143.14 euros (excluding VAT) per megawatt-hour, electricity was traded today on the Bulgarian Independent Energy Exchange (BNEB) in the "Day-Ahead" market segment, according to data after the closing of the exchange. The deals are based on tomorrow's delivery day - February 3rd. 

The energy exchange closed yesterday at an average price of 153.79 euros per megawatt-hour. This means that electricity for Bulgarian businesses will be cheaper by 6.93 percent tomorrow compared to the price for today.

The average price of peak energy (09:00-20:00 hours) for tomorrow is 162.04 euros per megawatt-hour, while off-peak energy (01:00-08:00; 21:00-24:00) was traded at an average of 124.25 euros per megawatt-hour.

The BNEB data show that a total of 99,921.67 megawatt-hours of electricity were sold.

In the "Within-Day" market segment, the weighted average price of BNEB for 60-minute products at the moment is 149.52 euros (excluding VAT) per megawatt-hour.

For 15-minute products, the weighted average daily price at this time is 145.67 euros (excluding VAT) per megawatt-hour.
