The official statistical data from the Federal Motor Vehicle Office (KBA) reveal an impressive transformation in the automotive sector of the Federal Republic of Germany. Between January and June 2025, a total of 248,726 electric vehicles were registered, representing a remarkable growth of 35% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Despite the overall decline in automotive sales by 4.7%, reaching 1.4 million units, electric models continue to increase their market share. They now occupy a solid 17.7% of new registrations, demonstrating sustained interest in more environmentally friendly transportation solutions.
This trend is a direct result of several key factors: intensifying European emission regulations, the emergence of more affordable electric models, and growing public awareness of climate challenges. Germany continues to be a leading market in the green automotive transition, demonstrating potential for large-scale industrial transformation.
