Denitsa Sacheva, Deputy Chair of the GERB-SDS parliamentary group, announced that legislative texts are ready, regulating additional aid for Christmas and Easter for the most vulnerable groups of the population. She emphasized the need for clear regulation to prevent the aid from becoming an object of political populism.

The proposals are expected to be presented for public discussion after New Year's. Around 600,000-700,000 Bulgarians with low incomes, children with disabilities, children of single parents, elderly people living alone and receiving heating benefits will be covered.

The topic arose after a discussion about the Christmas supplements for pensioners. This year, the government allocated 120 BGN for the elderly with pensions and supplements up to the poverty line.
