A large-scale nature conservation project "Pomorie Conservation Brigade" launched its next successful edition in 2025, uniting the efforts of environmentalists and local volunteers.

The initiative, organized by the non-governmental organization "Green Balkans", aims to comprehensively protect ornithological habitats in the Pomorie Lake area. Experts combine scientific research with practical field activities, focusing on the preservation of endangered bird species.

Within the project, volunteers have carried out extensive cleaning and mapping of over 200 kilometers of lakeside territory. Special emphasis is placed on the nesting sites of pink flamingos and slender-billed gulls, whose populations are the object of special attention.

The innovative initiative "Mapping Sustainable Holidays in Bulgaria" additionally supports the ecological campaign by connecting conservation activities with educational and tourism initiatives. The project demonstrates a successful model of civic activism in the field of nature conservation.
