In the capital Sofia, a large-scale diplomatic meeting was held between representatives of the foreign policy departments of Bulgaria and Armenia on July 15, 2025. The official Bulgarian delegation was led by Deputy Minister Elena Shekerlетova, while the Armenian side was represented by Deputy Minister Vakhan Kostanyan.
The negotiations covered a wide range of issues, with the main priority placed on expanding mutually beneficial partnership. Experts focused on key areas such as transport, energy, and digital connectivity, as well as on prospects for regional stability in the Black Sea region.
Special emphasis was placed on the upcoming ninth session of the Bulgarian-Armenian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation, which will be held in Sofia between July 16 and 18, 2025. The Bulgarian side declared explicit readiness to support and share expert experience in Armenia's European integration process.
During the diplomatic consultations, several current international topics were also discussed. These included challenges related to Russian military aggression against Ukraine, the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, and prospects for European Union expansion.
The meeting reinforced the impression of a constructive dialogue and mutual interest in deepening bilateral relations between the two countries in various strategic directions.
