In a solemn ceremony held at the presidential palace in Ankara, Ukrainian diplomat Nariman Dzelyal officially assumed the role of extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of his country. The event, personally documented by the diplomat through platform X, marks an important moment in diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Dzelyal's appointment is the result of a presidential decree by Volodymyr Zelenskyy, announced on December 20, 2024, and officially signed in May 2025. Before his diplomatic mission, Dzelyal was known as the first deputy chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People.

The biography of the new ambassador includes a dramatic episode - in 2021, he was arrested by Russian secret services and sentenced to 17 years in prison on unfounded charges. His release from Russian captivity in June 2024 preceded the current diplomatic appointment.

The presentation of credentials is an official diplomatic protocol that legitimizes the ambassador's powers and allows him to proceed with his diplomatic mission.
