Dimitar Kenarov is the recipient of the "Hristo Fotev" National Poetry Award for 2026. The award is given to him for the poetry collection "The Plowed Gardens of Love" (IK "Zhanet 45").

The book is Kenarov's third poetic work and appears after nearly 15 years of creative pause. He himself defines it as deeply personal, uniting themes of love, nature, and the contemporary political context. The jury evaluates the intertwining of these "languages" as a new humanistic sound.

In addition to poetry, Dimitar Kenarov is also known for his work in the field of documentary literature and investigative journalism.

In this year's jubilee edition of the competition, 88 authors participated with a total of 90 books. Among the nominees were Olya Stoyanova with "How Natural Laws Save Us" (Zhanet 45), Petar Chuhov with "At the End of the Bed" (Zhanet 45), Bina Kals with "Litany" (Izostok-Zapad) and Mario Savchev with "The Universe in Your Eyes" (Znatsi).

The "Hristo Fotev" National Award is awarded every two years by Burgas Municipality jointly with partner institutions. The program of this year's edition included a recitation competition, an exhibition of drawings and a musical-poetic spectacle directed by Rumen Velev.
