Final stage of consultations with President Iliana Yotova for a caretaker prime minister. At 11:00 am today, the meeting of the head of state with the chairman of the National Audit Office, Dimitar Glavchev, began.
After the conversation with the President, Glavchev commented to the media.
“I said that I am willing to accept.”
According to him, the composition of a new caretaker government was not discussed with the head of state.
“President Yotova did not set any preliminary conditions, nor did President Radev on the previous two occasions. No one has interfered in my work as caretaker prime minister either,” Glavchev further pointed out. “We made maximum efforts both times to ensure that the elections were fair.”
The date for the elections was not discussed either, explained the chairman of the National Audit Office.
After him, his deputies - Margarita Nikolova and Silvia Kadreva - were also invited for talks.
BNT will show you live the comments after the meetings.
So far, the deputy ombudsman Maria Filipova and the deputy governor of the BNB Andrey Gyurov have declared their readiness to take the post. The other officials who appeared earlier in the week at “Dondukov” 2, declined the post.
After the consultations today, the President must decide to whom to hand the mandate to form a caretaker government. The date for the early parliamentary elections depends on the signing of the decree for its appointment, and they must be held within two months.
