Members of Parliament decide to freeze salaries

The Members of Parliament unanimously adopted, with 193 votes "in favor," changes to the Rules of Organization and Procedure of the National Assembly, which effectively freeze their remuneration.

"The goal is to set an example in a time of crisis and to eliminate the automatic recalculation every three months," commented the proposer Petar Vitanov.

How is remuneration determined?

In addition to the financial changes, adjustments were made to the rules that synchronize the work of the parliamentary anti-corruption committee with the newly adopted anti-corruption law.
