Police officer Nikola Burgazliev, accused of the murder of 35-year-old Hristina, as well as of causing serious bodily harm to another person and putting a child into a long-term coma, has expressed his claims.

According to information provided by the Bulgarian National Television (BNT), Burgazliev"s lawyer wants the investigation of the case to be reopened from the very beginning.

The defense disputes the legality of the investigative actions undertaken by the National Investigation Service. This move could lead to significant delays and complications in the justice process, while simultaneously questioning the validity of the evidence already collected.

The lawyer"s arguments are focused on the role of the acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov. According to the defense, Sarafov did not have the authority to order investigative actions after July 21st. This legal dispute may prove to be crucial for the future of the case and determine whether the collected evidence will be considered admissible by the court. Depending on the court_q_s decision, the process may return to its initial phase, which will delay the pursuit of justice for the victims and their families.
