The debate on national resorts and changes to the Tourism Act is extremely urgent, stated the outgoing Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh. He called for the debate to happen quickly, as this parliament still has its life.

The chairman of the commission, Dr. Desislav Taskov, stated that the proposals for changes will be considered next week.

According to Borshosh, in 2026 there will be a discussion about the development of tourism and legislative changes related to the infrastructure in the mountain resorts. The ministry's vision has been sent to the National Assembly.

Borshosh noted a significant difference in the length of ski slopes compared to leading winter destinations in Europe. Bulgaria has less than 200 km, while in other countries they exceed 5000 km. A wide debate is forthcoming, in which different positions on the development of the mountains will clash.

The minister emphasized that the upcoming decisions can change the way tourism develops without violating the integrity of the mountains.

Representatives of the Ministry of Tourism, mayors, hoteliers, and representatives of the tourism industry are participating in the meeting. Borshosh noted that such meetings give the legislative power the opportunity to get acquainted with the problems of the business.
