One of the most beloved classic stories, "101 Dalmatians," comes to life on the stage of the State Puppet Theatre – Burgas. The production is staged as a large-scale musical that promises viewers a true spectacle, featuring original songs, choreography, impressive puppets, and an abundance of humor. The official premiere of the show is scheduled for September 19 at 7:00 PM.
This ambitious production was created specifically for the ensemble of the State Puppet Theatre – Burgas. The play is being realized in a successful partnership with the "Burgas 2032" Foundation, thereby actively supporting Burgas' bid for the prestigious title of European Capital of Culture in 2032.
The plot, based on the novel of the same name by Dodie Smith, takes the audience on a wild rescue adventure. The story unfolds when fashion icon Cruella de Vil decides to steal all the puppies in the city to turn them into a fur coat. Among the kidnapped are the little puppies of Pongo and Mrs. The two parents embark on a determined pursuit to save their children from Cruella's sinister plan.
The creative team behind the production includes proven professionals. The stage adaptation is by Glyn Robbins, with the translation of the text entrusted to Lyubov Kostova. The musical adaptation and overall direction are by Elena Panayotova. The show’s visuals – set design and puppets – are handled by Juliana Voykova, while the music is composed by Asen Avramov with lyrics by Iliya Devedzhiev. The musical director is Roberta, the choreography is by Rosen Mihaylov, and the promotional poster was created by Niya Petrova.
The play features actors Aleksandra Grancharova, Gergana Anmahyan, Desislava Mincheva-Todorova, Stanislava Kamenova-Zafirova, Alex Anmahyan, Delyan Kyosev, Diyan Rusev, and Nikolay Nikolov. The production has a total running time of 80 minutes and is suitable for children aged 5 and up and their families.
