The second generation of the French SUV is available in two hybrid versions and two all-electric options
These engines provide peace of mind, driving pleasure and optimized fuel consumption. For private customers, these changes apply to the new Citroen C5 Aircross PHEV, created for the daily city routes of families and for their long trips during their free time.
The plug-in hybrid version of the Citroen C5 Aircross is undoubtedly the most versatile model in the range. It has been completely redesigned between the two generations of the Citroen C5 Aircross, both technically with the installation of a larger fuel tank, and in terms of the engine's operating logic, to reduce fuel consumption, even when the battery is depleted, and to offer better dynamics.
On this occasion, its power increases from 195 hp to 225 hp pending the protocol that will apply when the Euro 7 standard comes into force. This new figure is more accurate in terms of the dynamics offered by this engine and is in line with the indicators observed on the market. It does not include technical modifications to the engine itself.
The combination of a battery with a gross capacity of 21.5 kWh and a 55-liter fuel tank makes this Citroen C5 Aircross PHEV particularly suitable for customers looking for a car that can be driven daily in electric mode and with complete peace of mind when it comes to long journeys. The new Citroen C5 Aircross Plug-in Hybrid combines a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder petrol turbo engine with 150 hp (110 kW) and an electric motor with 125 hp (56 kW) integrated into the new 7-speed eDCS dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The two units can work together or separately depending on driving conditions and the driver's needs. Three modes are available: Hybrid, Electric and Sport. This combination makes the Citroen C5 Aircross Plug-in Hybrid a particularly powerful and efficient car. With a combined fuel consumption of 2.5 liters per 100 kilometers and CO₂ emissions of 55 g/km, it is truly extremely economical.
Up to 113 km in all-electric mode in the city
Thanks to its battery with a gross capacity of 21.5 kWh (usable 17.8 kWh), this plug-in hybrid version of the Citroen C5 Aircross can cover up to 113 km in urban conditions and 96 km in a mixed cycle in all-electric mode. This represents a 33% increase in range compared to the previous generation.
This range allows for easy coverage of all daily trips (an average of 34 km) without the need for daily recharging. Charging from 0 to 100% takes 5 hours and 15 minutes with a 7.4 kW Wallbox with the standard 3.7 kW on-board charger and only 2 hours and 55 minutes with the optional 7.4 kW on-board charger.
Over 1100 km of autonomous range on long journeys
Thanks to its flexibility, the Citroen C5 Aircross Plug-in Hybrid meets the needs of customers in the compact SUV segment looking for a long range on long journeys, offering a total of up to 1100 km. On the highway, its 55-liter fuel tank, increased by 28% compared to the previous generation, allows you to travel up to 650 km with comfort for all passengers.
