Food prices are falling: Which fruits and vegetables have become the cheapest?

The State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets reports a drop in wholesale prices for a number of fruits, vegetables, and staple foods. See which products are cheaper this week.

Weekly Wholesale Price Analysis

The State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Marketplaces (SCCEM) reports a noticeable decline in the prices of basic food products. The Market Price Index (MPI) decreased by 0.81% to 2.323 points.

Significant price reductions are observed for seasonal vegetables and some fruits, which eases the consumer basket.

Dairy products and staple foods

Prices for dairy products are mixed: cow's milk cheese and "Vitosha" type yellow cheese show a minimal decline, while yogurt has become 1.09% more expensive. Among staple foods, there is a decline in oil (-1.93%) and flour (-8.7%), while sugar and rice show a slight increase.

Animal products

Frozen chicken meat is 4.65% cheaper, while the wholesale price of eggs has risen slightly by 1.01%.
