The Municipality of Tsarevo is urgently preparing a list of necessary measures and affected sites following the latest disaster caused by heavy rains. The list will be submitted to the Interdepartmental Commission on Disasters and Accidents as soon as possible. This was announced by the press center of the municipality, shedding light on the critical situation in the region.

It is recalled that the damage from the previous disaster in 2023 was colossal - exceeding 80 million leva. Despite this, the state allocated only 42 million leva, insufficient for large-scale activities on riverbeds and ravines. Obviously, the funds were not adequate to deal with the subsequent challenges.

Fortunately, the facilities built after the devastating flood of 2023 have withstood the water pressure in recent hours. Only minor violations of the pavements around them have been noted. The focus of the upcoming actions is directed towards the bed of the Cherna River. Construction of dams is planned in order to limit potential spills during the expected new rainfall on Tuesday. The situation is tense, and everyone is on the lookout for new disasters.

Municipal teams are working around the clock to clean up the affected settlements. As a witness to what is happening, one feels the tension in the air and the visible efforts of the people. The municipality appeals to the residents for patience and understanding in this difficult moment.

The mayor of Tsarevo, Marin Kirov, quoted by the press center, sends a direct message: "I personally urge that there be no speculation - in the previous mandate and in the current one, actions have been taken for a major correction of the Cherna River bed, but funding from the state was not allocated". His words emphasize the complexity of the problem and the lack of sufficient financial support from the state.

Since 2023, ravines, riverbeds and all dangerous areas have been cleaned repeatedly. The local administration describes what is happening as "unprecedented water havoc". The infrastructure, designed decades ago, is under enormous strain, sometimes struggling to withstand the pressure.

At the beginning of the week, the Regional Administration, the municipalities, the institutions and the media promptly informed the residents and guests of the region about the upcoming deterioration of the meteorological situation. The Municipality of Tsarevo categorically rejects as "inappropriate" speculations regarding the effectiveness of the BG-Alert system.

All citizens are urged to be careful and, if necessary, to seek assistance from the competent officials.
