New opportunities for Korean language students in Burgas
The Korea-Bulgaria Friendship Association has announced the launch of a major initiative to support students in Burgas. Starting in 2027, the organization will provide full funding for annual visits of two students to the Republic of Korea.
"I am impressed by Mayor Dimitar Nikolov's consistent policy for the development of higher education in Burgas," shared the Association's Chairman, Ki-Taek Nam.
At a special meeting with Mayor Dimitar Nikolov, the following were discussed:
- Expansion of academic exchange between Burgas and Korean universities.
- A donation to the Sofia University branch in Burgas to support Korean language and culture studies.
- The development of IT centers and scientific infrastructure in the city.
Students who take advantage of the program will have the chance to immerse themselves in Korean culture and improve their language skills in a real-world environment. Burgas is solidifying its position as a center for Korean culture, especially following the success of the annual "Days of Korea" and the partnership with its sister city, Ulsan.
