Burgas police arrest serial thief specializing in underground parking garage robberies
Burgas. Employees of the Second Regional Police Department – Burgas have carried out an operation to detain a 42-year-old man from the city, who is known to authorities for numerous criminal offenses and previous convictions. The suspect has been placed under arrest for a period of 24 hours.
The ongoing investigation points to a series of thefts committed over several weeks. The suspect's actions, which have been carefully documented by law enforcement officials, reveal a specialization in robberies of underground parking garages in large residential complexes. According to available information, the detained man is responsible for at least three separate crimes targeting belongings stored in private properties.
The first documented case dates back to the night of September 1-2. At that time, two bicycles were stolen from an underground parking garage located in residential block 214 in the Burgas complex "Slaveykov". These vehicles, with a total estimated value of 1,400 leva, are the property of a 45-year-old man. Thanks to the swift response of the police, the stolen bicycles were found and have already been seized in the proper manner.
The second incident occurred on August 21 around 11:10 PM. The victim was a 28-year-old man from Burgas, whose car, parked in the underground parking garage of "Central Park", was robbed. The thief managed to get away with a laptop together with its charger, as well as clothes and other personal belongings. The total value of the stolen property is estimated at 9,200 leva. Part of the stolen items have been found and attached to the pre-trial proceedings.
Just one day later, on the night of August 21-22, the same underground parking garage on "Dame Gruev" street in "Central Park" was again the target of a crime. This time, a bicycle valued at 1,600 leva, belonging to a 36-year-old man, was stolen. In this case, too, the stolen bicycle was found and has already been returned to its owner.
Employees of the Second Regional Police Department – Burgas are continuing their intensive work on the case, with the aim of fully documenting the criminal activity of the detained man. The collected evidence is expected to be used to press charges against the man, who is known for previous crimes. It is currently being clarified whether he is involved in other similar cases that have not yet been reported.
