A New Era for Culture in Burgas: Decentralization and Education

Bulgaria is placing an emphasis on the future of its talents. Minister of Culture Evtim Miloshev stated categorically that support for young artists is a priority, announcing the opening of a new branch of the National Music Academy (NMA) in Burgas.

"I accept my presence at this off-site rector's council as a great responsibility. The initiative carries enormous weight for the development of the region," Miloshev shared.

Why is Burgas becoming an educational hub?

The Rector of the National Academy of Art, Prof. Georgi Yankov, highlighted the success of the decentralization – nearly half of the first-year students at the academy this year are from Burgas and the region.

Mayor Dimitar Nikolov confirmed the Municipality's commitment to improving conditions, as work is actively underway on projects for art murals, stained glass, and the preservation of underwater archaeological heritage. All these steps are part of the large-scale ambition for Burgas to win the title of "European Capital of Culture" in 2032.
