Burgas will get a large campus with a green technology centre, Mayor Dimitar Nikolov has announced. He spoke at the opening of the second "Black Sea 2030: Security, Sustainability, Innovation" international forum at the International Congress Centre.
The Burgas Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced the forum date on 15 October. The organisers are Burgas Municipality and the "Prospects M" association.

The city backs science and gets help for this from the state and EU institutions, Nikolov said. He said local authorities will keep standing with business and with new firms that want to start work in Burgas and the region.
"This is the place where science and business should meet, and where young people should get our support," the mayor said. He said young people are being assured of cooperation and backing for their ideas and initiatives.
In his speech, Nikolov also spoke about security in the Black Sea region. He said institutions and NATO allies will ensure security in the Black Sea, and that the current difficulties will soon pass.
The sea is part of Burgas's past and present, and the city lives with it, the mayor said. He said people should think about a shared future on the Black Sea, and that resources should be used wisely for the benefit of residents.
The forum discusses the future of the Black Sea region, including maritime security, protection of the marine environment, sustainable development, research and innovation. The organisers hope that institutions, scientists and firms will work together to find practical solutions for a safe and sustainable future for the region.
Those taking part include institutions, European organisations, scientists and business representatives. The heads of the leading Burgas universities are also attending.
