Burgas Municipality is expanding its social services aimed at supporting people with mental disorders. At the upcoming session this month, the Municipal Council will consider a proposal to expand the material base of the Center for Social Rehabilitation and Integration of Persons with Mental Disorders (CSRIPMD). This initiative aims to improve the conditions and quality of the services provided, ensuring more comprehensive and specialized support for users.
The proposal is detailed in a report that concerns the provision of three independently separated rooms. These rooms are located on the first floor of the municipal building at "Ivan Bogorovo" St. No. 19 and are currently vacant. Each of the rooms also has an adjacent bathroom, which provides the necessary conditions for conducting specialized activities.
Why is the expansion necessary?
The need for expansion is dictated by legal requirements and the municipality's desire to meet the quality standards for social services. According to the Social Services Act, it is mandatory to provide a suitable environment for conducting various activities. The new spaces will allow for the separation of individual rooms that will be used for consultations, therapeutic sessions, and training. This will create better working conditions for both specialists and the users themselves.
The Center for Social Rehabilitation and Integration of Persons with Mental Disorders is a key structure for supporting a vulnerable group of people in the city. It has been operating successfully since 2017 and has since increased its capacity to 55 users. With the expansion of the material base, the Center will be able to continue providing its basic services.
Services include:
- Information and counseling
- Therapy and rehabilitation
- Advocacy and mediation activities
- Training for acquiring life and work skills
The initiative to expand the base is an important step towards providing more effective and adequate support that meets the growing needs of people with mental disorders in Burgas. By providing the additional rooms, the Center will be able to improve the quality of support provided, ensuring a more specialized environment and contributing to their full rehabilitation and integration into society. This decision is expected to be supported by the municipal councilors, as it is in the direct interest of the residents of the municipality and is aimed at improving the city's social infrastructure.
