In support of men's health, "Mustache Run 2025" was held in Burgas, part of the national campaign for the prevention of prostate cancer. Under the motto "Grow a mustache - get a check-up - run the Mustache Run 2025", the initiative focused attention on timely check-ups and the early detection of one of the most common male oncological diseases.
The participants ran 5 kilometers in the Sea Garden. Some of the men ran with mustaches, and the women – with artificial ones, in a sign of solidarity. Most of the course was given to the ladies, who stood behind the message that prevention can save lives.
The event took place simultaneously in several cities across the country.
Statements from participants:
- "We are in solidarity with men's health. We run with mustaches because we want all men to go for preventive check-ups to stay healthy."
- "Once every 6 months I check my blood test, I check those pains that I have and possibly, if I feel any deviations from my normal status."
- "Our little prank is that many of the participants grow mustaches in November and welcome all men to have a prostate checkup. Many women participate. Just as there is prevention for breast cancer in women. Things that the earlier they are diagnosed, the easier they can be stopped."
