Solemn commemoration of Macedonia Day in Burgas
With the laying of wreaths and flowers and a minute of silence in front of the monument to the 24th Black Sea Infantry Regiment, the residents of Burgas honored the memory of those who died for the freedom of Macedonia.
Macedonia Day is a symbol of self-sacrifice and the aspiration for national unification.
As part of the event, a memorial prayer was held by the Burgas Orthodox clergy. The official ceremony was attended by:
- Diana Savateva – Deputy Mayor of Burgas Municipality;
- Mihail Hadzhiyanev – Chairman of the Municipal Council;
- Georgi Madzharov – Deputy Regional Governor;
- Municipal councilors and many citizens.
The festive atmosphere was complemented by the performance of patriotic songs by the Brass Band of Burgas Municipality. The day, which is celebrated on the Day of the Holy Spirit, remains a symbol of respect for historical memory and the fighters for freedom.
