Police in Burgas Arrest Drunk Driver
Burgas – Police in the Black Sea city have arrested a driver who is alleged to have been driving a car under the influence of alcohol, the local police directorate announced. The incident, which prompted an immediate police response, occurred on Wednesday afternoon, casting a shadow over traffic in the city.
According to information provided by the authorities, police officers from the traffic police stopped a car for a routine check near a gas station located at the exit of the city towards Sofia. The time was around 1:15 p.m.
Behind the wheel of the car was a 52-year-old man from Burgas. At the moment when law enforcement officers requested a check, a tense atmosphere reigned at the scene.
During the subsequent check with a technical device – a breathalyzer, it was established that the man had been driving after consuming alcohol. The test result showed a concentration of 3.29 per mille. Immediately after that, the driver was taken for a blood sample for chemical analysis, which should confirm the initial data.
As a result of the violation, the man was detained for up to 24 hours. In addition, the car driven by him was confiscated by the authorities. This decision is intended to emphasize the seriousness of violations related to driving under the influence of alcohol.
