Burgas will mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities – December 3, with the symbolic construction of a “Path to Accessibility and Tolerance” by users of social services in the city. The initiative, organized by the Municipality of Burgas, is aimed at all citizens and users of social services and will be held tomorrow at 11:00 am on “Atanas Sirekov” square.
Users of social services will begin the “construction” of a symbolic “Path to Accessibility and Tolerance” with 31 pre-painted steps with dimensions of 1.10 m by 0.65 cm. The route of the symbolic path will be from “Atanas Sirekov” square – along “Aleksandrovska” street – Compass – “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” square, where everyone will release colorful balloons into the sky.
The “Path to Accessibility and Tolerance” initiative carries the message that every person has their place and value, with the necessary respect and dignity. The steps, painted by the users, symbolize their dreams, desires, efforts, and their courage to move forward, despite the difficulties.
Walking this path shows that society can be warmer, more empathetic, more open, more tolerant, and more humane. This is a gesture of support, respect, and hope – a step towards a world where everyone is accepted and visible, to remember that true strength is not measured by physical abilities, but by the spirit we carry within us.
