Festive procession in Burgas for May 24th
Burgas celebrated the Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, of the Bulgarian alphabet, education and culture with a large-scale procession. The celebration began with students who led the parade, carrying icons and portraits of the holy brothers, followed by seventh-graders with the letters of the Glagolitic alphabet and eleventh-graders with the Cyrillic alphabet.
The procession set off from "Troykata" Square at 10:30 AM, uniting thousands of citizens in a shared spirit of enlightenment.
Who took part in the manifestation?
- 34 kindergartens and 45 schools from the city;
- Representatives of universities and academic branches;
- Clergy, community centers (chitalishta), and cultural centers;
- The Mayor of Burgas Dimitar Nikolov, members of parliament, and municipal councilors.
Route and traffic organization
The festive column moved along "Aleksandrovska" St. and "Aleko Bogoridi" St., finishing in front of the "Sea Casino" Cultural Center. The culmination of the day included laying flowers at the monuments of the Alley of the Revival Figures in the Sea Garden.
For the safety of the participants, traffic on key streets and intersections in the city center was temporarily restricted until 1:30 PM.
