Burgas has acquired a modern football pitch in the "Vetra" neighborhood, following an official opening ceremony that gathered numerous guests. The ceremony, imbued with an atmosphere of sporting enthusiasm and community unity, was presided over by Mayor Dimitar Nikolov and the president of the Bulgarian Football Union (BFS) Georgi Ivanov.

The opening rites were performed by His Eminence Metropolitan Arseniy of Sliven and representatives of the local Orthodox clergy, lending the event an even more significant city-wide character. Among those present were deputy mayors, municipal councilors, football legends, sports figures, children from Burgas' football schools, and numerous sports enthusiasts, whose enthusiasm was palpable.

The renovated sports complex, funded under UEFA's "Hat-trick" program, represents a significant investment – over 1 million leva. The funds were invested in the creation of modern sports infrastructure, consisting of high-quality artificial turf with an extended lifespan, much longer lasting than standard surfaces, and modern lighting. Several more football goals complete the field's equipment, creating optimal conditions for training and games.

The mayor emphasized, "At the moment we are ready with several more new technical projects and we expect the program to continue into 2026. The important thing is that very serious conditions are being created for the schools in Burgas. Here I want to assure the president of the Football Union, Mr. Ivanov, that new schools are constantly being created in Burgas, everyone wants to develop football. For us, the most important thing is that in this way we give children the opportunity to play sports and develop".

The project aims to provide modern conditions for the development of football, both for young talents and for all sports enthusiasts in Burgas.

The president of the BFS, Georgi Ivanov, expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation with the local authorities, noting, "Burgas is an important region for Bulgarian football considering that there are many children and coaches here. Many footballers have come from here and have left a deep mark on our football. We need to bring back this tradition so that there can be players for professional football and our national team. I am glad that we have a close relationship with Mayor Nikolov, we are partners and I believe that together we will continue to build modern infrastructure and develop football in the city".

He wished the young footballers success and expressed hope that some of them would become future stars of the national team. The opening of the renovated pitch was met with enthusiasm, a sign of hope for better development of football in Burgas and throughout the country.
