In Burgas, a large-scale initiative to modernize the city's lighting has begun, already yielding tangible results. A total of 2366 streetlights in the city have been replaced with the latest, energy-efficient LED fixtures. The goal is twofold – to provide better lighting for residents and, at the same time, reduce energy consumption.

The project covers key residential complexes in the city. The reconstruction of the lighting has already been completed in the neighborhoods "Slaveykov", "Zornitsa", "Lazur", and the Central City area. The project aims to improve both the functionality of the lighting and the visual perception of public spaces.

Beyond the replacement of the lamps, the city administration has also taken measures to increase energy efficiency and pedestrian safety. Lighting fixtures using solar energy have been installed at 65 key pedestrian crossings. This solution is aimed at increasing the comfort and safety of citizens, as solar lamps provide reliable lighting even in the absence of power supply. In addition, this approach leads to significant savings in electricity, reduced maintenance costs, and a reduction in carbon emissions.

The realization of this significant project is carried out thanks to funding under procedure C 4.I3 "Support for energy-efficient street lighting systems" from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The investment in the modernization of street lighting is part of a broader strategy for the sustainable development of the city.
