The state-owned company "Bulgargaz" has announced the start of a new tender procedure aimed at ensuring the necessary quantities of energy for the upcoming summer season. The subject of the tender is the delivery of 1,000,000 MWh of liquefied natural gas (LNG) via a terminal in Turkey.

International scale and participants in the procedure

37 international companies, including both traders and producers of liquefied natural gas, have been invited to participate in the current procedure. These companies have already demonstrated interest in previous tenders by the company and have successfully passed the approval process by "Bulgargaz".

The selection of the supplier will be based on a strict methodology that takes into account the lowest delivery price, as well as terms for duration and method of payment.

Strategic planning for the 2026-2027 winter season

It is important to note that the company's strategic plans also include long-term security of energy flows. Since the terminal near Alexandroupolis will be under planned maintenance, starting from April 1, 2026, "Bulgargaz" is already planning the next LNG delivery. This new volume will be injected into the "Chiren" gas storage facility, serving to replenish reserves for the needs of the 2026-2027 winter period.
