A delegation from the Burgas Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI – Burgas) visited Edirne, in response to an invitation from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Edirne (CCI – Edirne). The chairman of the BCCI, Todor Demirkov, led the delegation, which headed to the neighboring city with the aim of deepening economic cooperation. The delegation's arrival was met with great interest, given the prospects that cooperation between the two regions opens up.
One of the main events of the visit was the signing of an official cooperation agreement between the two organizations. The agreement, which sealed the new stage in the development of bilateral economic relations, was defined as key to the future of the relationships. The regional office of the BCCI informed the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA) of the details of the event, which is expected to have a long-term positive impact.
The main goal of the signed document is the implementation of a joint project focused on providing seasonal employment for Turkish citizens in the dynamic tourism sector on the Burgas Black Sea coast. Within the framework of this initiative, the CCI – Edirne will play a key role, providing professional training to those interested through its "Gastro Academy". There, participants will have the opportunity to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to work as qualified chefs and assistant chefs. The training will be conducted with the support of lecturers from Trakya University in Edirne. Those who successfully complete the course will have the opportunity for professional realization in tourist sites in the territory of Burgas region.
High-ranking guests attended the signing of the agreement, including the Consul General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Edirne, Radoslava Kafedjiyska, along with her team. Representatives of the Regional Development Agency of the Thrace region – Edirne also honored the event. The chairman of the CCI – Edirne, Sezai Imrak, expressed confidence that the partnership with BCCI – Burgas will lead to excellent results. "The partnership with BCCI – Burgas inspires confidence and security in achieving excellent results in the common endeavor," he stressed. The project is expected to contribute to overcoming the shortage of qualified personnel in the tourism sector of Bulgaria, as well as to creating new opportunities for professional development and employment for Turkish citizens.
On behalf of the BCCI – Burgas, readiness to expand cooperation was expressed, going beyond the framework of the current project. Representatives of the chamber emphasized their interest in exchanging good practices, promoting investments and organizing joint training in various economic sectors. The desire to strengthen economic ties and business development between the two regions is obvious.
