Prof. Dr. Milen Baltov, Rector of BSU, and Zornitsa Rusinova, Chair of the Economic and Social Council, renewed the cooperation agreement between the two institutions in the Academic Council Hall of Burgas Free University. The University welcomed representatives from the leadership and legal structures of the partners within the European University of Islands, Ports, and Coastal Territories (EUNICoast). The event took place immediately following a joint meeting of the EUNICoast Board of Rectors and the Legal Office.
With this act, the institutions reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the existing partnership. The focus is placed on stimulating civic dialogue and engagement with the academic community through the sharing of expertise and joint initiatives for the public good.
During the meeting of the Board of Rectors, strategic discussions were held on the following topics:
- The EUNICoast strategic plan;
- Scenarios and models for ensuring financial sustainability;
- The Declaration of Intent regarding the alliance's financial sustainability after 2028.
In parallel, a meeting of the EUNICoast Legal Office was also held. During the subsequent joint meeting of the Board of Rectors and the Legal Office, the primary emphasis was placed on the Memorandum of Understanding related to the establishment of the future EUNICoast legal entity.
