In a 25-minute one-man show, broadcast directly via the social network Facebook, former Prime Minister Boyko Borisov demonstrated a categorical change in his political position, practically capitulating to Delyan Peevski. The news was announced by Asen Vasilev, chairman of "We Continue the Change", in a post on Facebook. Vasilev quoted Borisov, using his own words, which testify to this change of positions. "When I say something - Peevski complies. When he says something - I fulfill it," were the words quoted by Vasilev.
The development occurred after a meeting of the Executive Commission of GERB. Present at this meeting were the current Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, ministers from the cabinet, regional coordinators, and Members of Parliament from the party. It was there that the leader of GERB, Boyko Borisov, emphasized the need to hold a meeting with representatives of "The New Beginning".
In his speech to the party's activists, Borisov was categorical: "We must speak to Peevski straight in the eye. The rest, who want or don't want this to happen, should provide another option. I don't have another one. I truly hoped PP-DB would offer, but they didn't. If ITN and BSP are okay, invite and talk, if they aren't okay – we alone won't do it," stated the chairman of GERB. The party leader stressed that he had expected the coalition "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" to express readiness for a meeting with GERB, to support a government on certain topics, and to ensure a majority. According to Borisov, this did not happen.
