The Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) will begin publishing exchange rates of foreign currencies against the euro and of the euro against foreign currencies on January 1, 2026. This will take place on the central bank's website. The BNB will announce exchange rates every working day for Bulgaria after this date.

A decision of the Council of Ministers from November declares December 31, 2025 and January 2, 2026 as non-working days. This is related to the need for the financial and non-financial sectors to make technological changes in connection with the introduction of the euro.

Therefore, the first date for publishing exchange rates will be January 5, 2026.

The BNB's announcement is in connection with the requirements of the Currency Act, according to which the reference exchange rates published by the BNB are used for accounting and statistical purposes.
