The iconic football teams Pirin Blagoevgrad and CSKA organized an extraordinary charity match at the "Hristo Botev" stadium, whose main goal was to support the treatment of Yoan Dermendzhiev.
The match was met with exceptional interest, with hundreds of fans filling the stands to see their sports heroes from the past. The match ended in a 2:2 draw, with goals scored by distinguished veterans.
Ventsislav Vasilev opened the score for the "reds", but Boris Galchev quickly equalized with a precise direct free kick. Later, Vladislav Zlatinov and Petar Zlatinov added to the goal tally, with the latter scoring a penalty kick.
Donation boxes were placed at the stadium entrances, and the total collected amount will be officially announced on Friday and immediately transferred to Yoan Dermendzhiev's account.
"This match proved that Blagoevgrad is a truly solidarity city that can unite people behind a noble cause," said the Pirin management, emphasizing the message that "Yoan is not alone in his battle".
