An intensive rescue operation is unfolding in the area around Sungurlare, where teams from the General Directorate "Fire Safety and Population Protection" are waging an unprecedented battle against the fire element. Two main fire fronts - near the village of Skala and close to Beronovo - were localized after prolonged night efforts of the rescue teams.

A third fire front emerged in a mixed forest area, far from populated places, which further complicates the rescue operation. Due to the exceptional inaccessibility of the terrain, specialists are forced to work mainly manually, relying on their exceptional preparation and coordination.

Key figures in the operation are the Deputy Director of GDFSPPP Senior Commissioner Lyubomir Barov, the Director of Burgas Fire Department Senior Commissioner Nikolay Nikolaev, Regional Governor Vladimir Krumov, and the Mayor of Sungurlare Municipality Dimitar Gavazov, who are directly managing the actions.

The scale of the rescue operation includes 21 firefighting teams, 30 military personnel, and additional volunteer formations. They are distributed across three strategic fronts, with two concentrated in the forest area towards the village of Beronovo. The operational group has six water trucks for rapid response.

International support is tangible - three Swedish planes and a helicopter from the base in Novo Selo provide air support. The Regional Governor has filed an official request to the Ministry of Defense for additional forces and equipment.

At the moment, official authorities assured that there is no immediate threat to populated areas, and the operation to control the fire continues with full intensity.
