A specialized campaign for free medical consultations with a clinical hematologist will be implemented at UMBAL Burgas, health authorities reported. The initiative officially starts on July 14, and those interested can register in advance at the office phone 0879 357 591, which operates every working day between 6:00 PM and 7:30 PM.
The examinations are specifically targeted at patients with potential hematological risks – individuals with established or suspected anemia, possible oncohematological diseases, as well as pregnant women with probable complications related to thrombophilia. The medical consultation does not require a mandatory referral from a general practitioner.
Experts will evaluate patients according to specific professional criteria. To be admitted for examination, it is necessary to provide a complete blood count in advance. For pregnant women with established thrombophilia, an additional genetic test is required.
Lead specialist Dr. Albena Todorova, a certified clinical hematologist with five years of experience at the hospital and a member of the Bulgarian Medical Hematology Association, emphasizes the critical importance of early diagnosis.
Among the most characteristic symptoms that require specialized consultation are chronic fatigue, shortness of breath, pallor, heart palpitations, dizziness, and impaired concentration. Dr. Todorova categorically points out that anemia should not be perceived superficially, as it may signal serious health deviations.
Experts warn that malignant hematological diseases often proceed latently, without visible external signs. In pregnant women with high risk of thrombophilia, there is a danger of serious complications such as spontaneous abortions, preeclampsia, and delayed intrauterine growth.
Timely prevention and precise diagnostics are of exceptional importance for preventing potential health risks and ensuring a successful pregnancy.
