The Bulgarian Red Cross in Burgas is looking for volunteers to provide first aid during Eurovision 2027 in the coastal city. They will join the Volunteer Team for Disaster, Accident and Emergency Response (DERBAC).

Applicants must be adults, but no medical qualification is required — the training is entirely hands-on. Volunteers will learn how to stop bleeding and respond to various injuries, and will take a course in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). They will also learn how to handle burns, choking and other emergencies, as well as how to work as a team when large crowds gather in one place.
The course starts in September and runs through April, so the team will be ready in time for the big event in May 2027. The first information session, which also marks the start of the training, will take place on Thursday, September 24, at 6:00 p.m. at the Bulgarian Red Cross building in Burgas.
