The Bulgarian competitors concluded their participation in the men's parallel giant slalom qualifications at the Winter Olympic Games in Milan/Cortina.

Tervel Zamfirov and Radoslav Yankov secured places among the top 16 and advanced to the final phase, while Aleksandar Krshnyak was eliminated.

Tervel Zamfirov started the competition impressively with a time of 42.92 seconds in his first run on the red course, which placed him in third place after the first round and earned him the second-best performance on that line.

In his second run on the blue course against Arno Godet, the Bulgarian finished with a time of 1:26.58 minutes and easily secured his place in the round of 16. In the final standings after the qualifications, Zamfirov took fifth position and will face Elias Hubert.

Radoslav Yankov started with number 7 and in his first start on the red course against Tim Mastnak (Slovenia) recorded 43.84 seconds, which placed him in 16th place - the last position qualifying for the finals.

In his second run, Yankov skied on the blue course against Kwiatkowski and finished with a time of 1:27.44 minutes. After the two qualifying runs, the Bulgarian ranked 13th and also found a place among the participants in the round of 16.

21-year-old Aleksandar Krshnyak also participated in the qualifications, who, like Zamfirov, debuted at the Winter Olympic Games. The Bulgarian started with number 30 on the blue course against Christoph Minarik (Czech Republic) and clocked a time of 46.91 seconds, which left him in 32nd place after the first round.

In his second qualifying run, Krshnyak started solo on the red course after his opponent Masaki Shiba dropped out in the first round. He recorded 1:32.27 minutes with a cleaner run, but this was not enough to advance, and the Bulgarian ended his participation in the competition.

The Italian Robert Fishciner became the leader after the qualifications, followed by his compatriot Aaron March and Benjamin Karl.

The finals start at 13:55 and will be broadcast live on BNT 1 and on our website.
