The coach Milen Dudev expressed exceptional satisfaction with the performance of the Bulgarian national basketball team under 16 years old after the categorical victory over the British team. The match, which was held in the Pernik hall "Boris Gyuderov", confirmed the readiness of the young talents for the upcoming European championship.
The match was entirely dominated by the Bulgarian team. From the very beginning, the national team took the initiative, winning the first quarter with 26:21. The second quarter was especially impressive, during which the team managed to extend its lead to 44:28, with the opposing team managing to score only 7 points.
Statistically, the most productive players were Mihail Minchev and Kaloyan Marchev, who scored 13 points each. Ivo Valentinov stood out with 6 assists, while Georgi Dimov and Kaloyan Kolev finished the match with 5 points each.
Coach Dudev emphasized the strategic advantages of the team, noting the shorter rotation of the British team as an additional factor for success. "We assembled a very good team, where everyone knows their function", commented the coach, who sees potential in all 12 players.
On the eve of the European championship, the main focus is on maintaining good physical form and health of the players. Dudev plans lighter training sessions in the remaining days, and already has a clear vision for the upcoming challenges.
The first match of the championship will be against the Czech Republic - an opponent that is defined as an extremely strong and important test for the Bulgarian national team. The victory of 75:59 against Great Britain undoubtedly inspires confidence in the young talents before this crucial clash.
