The Bulgarian youth volleyball national team under 16 years old suffered another disappointment at the European championship, which is taking place in the Armenian capital Yerevan. In their third match of the group stage, the team lost decisively to the Czech team with a clear 0:3.
The result by sets was extremely one-sided – 17:25, 21:25, and 16:25 in favor of the Czech competitors. This result practically eliminates the Bulgarian talents from the fight for the top two places in the group, which would have ensured their qualification for the semifinals.
The individual performances of the Bulgarian volleyball players were modest. Krastin Ilov and Milko Bagdasarov stood out as the most productive with 10 points each, while for the Czechs, Simon Janalik impressed with 15 points.
On Saturday, the teams will rest, and on Sunday, Bulgaria will meet Serbia. Both teams currently occupy sixth and seventh place in the standings, having one victory and two failures.
