Bulgarian Success at the Balkan Physics Olympiad
Bulgarian students reaffirmed their leading positions on the international stage by winning prestigious awards at the Eighth Balkan Physics Olympiad (BPO 8), held in Istanbul, Turkey. Our talents are returning home with one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals.
"Your successes are proof that talent, hard work, and perseverance can turn dreams into real achievements," noted Prime Minister Rumen Radev regarding the accomplishments of our young physicists.
Who are the medalists?
- Miroslav Draganov (PMG "Acad. Nikola Obreshkov", Burgas) – gold medal
- Nikola Kostov (SMG, Sofia) – silver medal
- Boris Pulev (NPMG, Sofia) – bronze medal
- Kiril Momchilov (SMG, Sofia) – bronze medal
The success is the result of rigorous preparation and the dedicated work of their teachers. The Balkan Physics Olympiad is a key forum for students under the age of 17, which encourages interest in science and strengthens cooperation in the region.
