Five Bulgarian tennis players demonstrated impressive play during the K&D Cup 2025 tournament, held in Sofia with a prize fund of 15 thousand dollars. Due to unfavorable weather conditions, the competition was moved from the TC "Diana" courts to the TC "Dema" base.

In a highly contested doubles tournament, the young 18-year-old Alexander Vasilev, partnering with Russian player Vardan Manukyan, achieved a convincing victory against the Slovak-Greek pair Samuel Kiyaci and Michalis Sakelaridis with a decisive result of 6:0, 2:6, 10:6.

Another Bulgarian pair - Viktor Markov and Plamen Milushev, recorded an extremely dramatic match against the fourth-seeded Vesa Anti from Finland and Fons van Sambeek from the Netherlands. They managed to prevail with a score of 6:3, 6:7(1), 10:7 and secured a place in the next phase of the tournament.

An interesting moment in the competition was the all-Bulgarian quarter-final between Markov/Milushev and David Simeonov/Nikola Keremedchiev. Simeonov and Keremedchiev eliminated Dinko Dinev and Nikita Bilozertsev from Ukraine, who withdrew when the score was tied 5:5 in the first set.

In the individual competition, 30-year-old Plamen Milushev achieved a remarkable success, passing through qualifications and qualifying for the main draw. He defeated the qualification leader Oscar Grzegorzewski from Poland with a result of 4:6, 6:2, 11:9.

Other Bulgarian tennis players, however, failed to advance. George Lazarov was eliminated in the third round of qualifications by Andrea Bakaloni, and Yoan Naydenov was eliminated at the beginning of the main draw by Nikita Bilozertsev.

In the upcoming matches, attention will be focused on Alexander Vasilev - a Wimbledon semi-finalist in the youth category, who will play against qualifier Vladimir Ignatich. Besides him, Dinko Dinev, Anas Mazdrashki, and Viktor Markov will also participate in the main draw of the tournament.
