Bulgarian Tennis Players Eliminated in Spain After Dramatic Battles

A young Bulgarian tennis player and a pair were eliminated from a tournament in Denia after contested matches, losing key moments in the decisive phases of the matches.

Bulgarian tennis players suffered defeats at a prestigious clay court tournament in the Spanish city of Denia with a prize fund of $30,000. The 19-year-old Anas Mazdrashki lost to local player Pablo Martinez Gomez after an extremely competitive match.

In the first set, both players fought an incredibly balanced battle, which ended in a tiebreak with a score of 6:8. Mazdrashki missed a critical set point at 6:5 and lost three consecutive points, which proved decisive for the final outcome of the match, which ended after 2 hours and 25 minutes.

Before this match, the Bulgarian tennis player had achieved an impressive series of five consecutive victories, including eliminating Carlos Sanchez Hover from Spain, who is 260th in the world rankings.

Another Bulgarian pair - Antoniy Genov and Leonid Sheyngesikht, also dramatically dropped out of the tournament. They lost to the second-seeded Mario Diez and Marc Vervort with a score of 1:6, 7:6(3), 7:10 after an almost two-hour match.

At the decisive moment of the match, the Bulgarians looked very close to success. They managed to overcome a 2:4 deficit in the second set and won the tiebreak 7:3. However, in the final tiebreak of the match, they had a 6:2 lead but lost eight consecutive points and ultimately conceded.
